Units of Measurement:

main

  • 2 Pound chicken wings

  • 2 Tablespoon Traeger Chicken Rub

  • 2 Teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 Tablespoon sesame oil

  • 5 Tablespoon butter, melted

  • 1/3 Cup dark brown sugar

  • 1/4 Cup Sriracha

  • 2 Tablespoon soy sauce

  • 2 Tablespoon lime zest

  • 1 Tablespoon garlic, crushed

  • 1 Tablespoon crushed ginger

  • 1 Tablespoon lime juice

  • 1 Tablespoon cilantro, finely chopped

  • 1 Tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Steps

  • 1

When ready to cook, set the Traeger to 325℉ and preheat for 15 minutes.
  • 2

Combine Traeger Chicken rub, garlic powder, sesame oil, and wings. Toss to coat.

    Ingredients

    • 2 Pound chicken wings

    • 2 Tablespoon Traeger Chicken Rub

    • 2 Teaspoon garlic powder

    • 1 Tablespoon sesame oil

  • 3

Place the wings directly on the grill grate and cook for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 160℉. Once wings reach an internal temperature of 160℉, remove from grill and increase the grill temperature to High.

    Grill: 325 ˚F

    Probe: 160 ˚F

  • 4

While wings are cooking, combine all the sauce ingredients except for the cilantro and sesame seeds.

    Ingredients

    • 5 Tablespoon butter, melted

    • 1/3 Cup dark brown sugar

    • 1/4 Cup Sriracha

    • 2 Tablespoon soy sauce

    • 2 Tablespoon lime zest

    • 1 Tablespoon garlic, crushed

    • 1 Tablespoon crushed ginger

    • 1 Tablespoon lime juice

  • 5

While grill heats, toss the cooked wings in half of the sauce mixture (just enough to coat them) and place back on the grill for 10 to 15 minutes, or until sauce sets.

    Grill: 500 ˚F

  • 6

Top wings with chopped cilantro and sesame seeds and serve with the remaining sauce on the side. Enjoy! *Cook times will vary depending on set and ambient temperatures.

    Ingredients

    • 1 Tablespoon cilantro, finely chopped

    • 1 Tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

For extra spice add chili flakes in the marination stage and marinate overnight. Also you can add some potent hot sauce in the finishing mix.

    This sauce is amazing!

This sauce is absolutely amazing! I have done these wings more than a dozen times now and are a regular request for get togethers. Also, I have done this recipe with thighs instead of wings…now it’s a dinner favorite. I use the tubes of ginger and garlic from the produce section so it’s easy peasy to make and I use the whole lime (zest and juice) for a little extra kick.

Turn it up a little and soak em at the end

Turn the temp up to crisp the skin to 400 and turn at about 140 degrees to crisp both sides. Then put the wings in a foil pan and mix entire sauce with them. Seal with foil and use the same 15 minute timer. Can’t get it much better.

    Our favorite wing recipe

This one is our family favorite so far. We take the internal temp up to 175-180 and a little longer at 500 for more of a chat to develop.
